Have you ever just felt burnt out with life? Have you ever woke up tired, pissed off, and overwhelmed? I went through this recently. My work and personal life suffered. I felt like I was running on a treadmill and going nowhere fast!
If you're a freelancer then you know how burn-out feels. You sit at your computer and don't feel like designing. You don't feel like reading emails. You haven't painted in days or weeks. You barely feel like eating. So you force yourself to be creative but deep inside you feel like an empty cup. Your production suffers. Your relationship with your spouse grows cold.
I had to evaluate things and decide what direction I should take. Was I chasing success or living a life of significance? I was out of focus. Why was I not enjoying the path anymore?
I had to STOP for a second and refuel. I was running in the gray-zone. I needed to fill my cup. So I took some time to get back in the green. I had to tell a few people “no”. I stopped accepting customers that I knew were time wasters.
So I worked out. I went to the beach. I read a few chapters of a good book. I visited Wynwood walls in Miami. I spent some quiet time alone. I ate Pho at the Vietnamese spot. I just took a day to fill my tank. This may be different for you, but find something that recharges your battery. Maybe its sleeping all night or a Sunday watching Netflix. Whatever it is, just give yourself time to recharge.
Love yourself. Don't get lost DOING, DOING, DOING, without some recovery time.
Significance > Success
I have to give credit to my mentor Noah. Read about him and view his work at https://noahfineart.com
I also have to give credit to Joe Z at Signature Signs in Fort Pierce FL. Great guy and a huge inspiration to me.
