Always Learning
A typical day of freelancing may include quoting new projects, following up with clients, designing proofs, ordering materials, phone calls, taxes, actual work, and looking for new jobs. But somewhere in there, you have to find time to grow your skills.
I believe that if you're not constantly learning and adapting then you'll get left behind.
My goal was always to create quality art and designs and grow into a better person.
These three tools helped me become a better artist, designer, and person.
1. Skillshare - Basically an online university where you can learn about many topics related to social media, business, art & design. You don’t have to use this website but find an online program that has training or courses in your field.
2. Mentorship Program - I'm a member of Noah University. Noah’s mentorship program that has changed my outlook on art and business. Noah walks you through the process of building your brand story and business. I suggest finding a mentorship from someone you respect who has a proven track record of success in your field or a similar field.
3. Audible - I like to read but some days I'm too busy to sit down with a book. I use to listen to audiobooks for free on Youtube, but after a while I got tired of the commercials. So I subscribed to Audible. Now I can listen to books while I sketch, paint, or drive.
Don’t get frustrated or overwhelmed. Just make small steps forward everyday. Hope this helps.
